We met up with Marlene Luce at the Flux Exhibition curated by Lisa Gray in London on May 18, 2023
Marlene Luce uses digital photography to tint her images, highlighting the painterly aspect of her imagery, she developed a technique consisting of tinted images transferred on canvas and painted over in oil paint. This technique is referred to as ”Pintography” combines the classicism of photography with a modern medium, to create images that challenge the current boundaries between the artistic categories of photography and painting.
Every amazing art piece she creates is the fruit of research and passion.
Marlene has travelled all the world and is a deep, interesting, kind and quite honestly incredible person. It was truly a pleasure to talk with her and listen to how she cares about women artists, how she recognises the unique struggles of the sector for us. Marlene’s next Exhibit will be on the fabulous Lake Como, in Italy in the beautiful Menaggio, where art and world beauty meet. I certainly hope I will meet her there.

Marlene usa la fotografia digitale per tingere le sue immagini, mettendo in evidenza l’aspetto pittorico delle sue opere. Ha sviluppato una tecnica che consiste nell’applicare immagini tinte su tela e dipingerle con olio. Questa tecnica, chiamata “Pintografia”, combina il classicismo della fotografia con un mezzo moderno per creare immagini che sfidano le attuali limitazioni tra le categorie artistiche della fotografia e della pittura.
Ogni incredibile opera d’arte che crea è il frutto di ricerca e passione.
Marlene ha viaggiato per tutto il mondo ed è una persona profonda, interessante, gentile e, onestamente, incredibile. È stato un vero piacere parlare con lei e ascoltare come si preoccupa delle artiste donne, come riconosce le uniche difficoltà che il settore ci presenta. La prossima mostra di Marlene si terrà sul meraviglioso Lago di Como, in Italia, nella splendida Menaggio, dove arte e bellezza del mondo si incontrano. Spero davvero di incontrarla lì questa estate.
