Ritual Bodypainting by Isabella Goio

The exhibition “Espressioni a Confronto” at warehouse 26 in the old port of Trieste ended with a great turnout from the public.
An exhibition that saw the participation of 52 Trieste artists with various techniques and pictorial products. For the occasion, artist Isabella Goio created an innovative ritual bodypainting performance during which she painted the dancer Afra Pieri, giving life to a show of ritual drawings on the body. The dancer, completely painted according to tribal signs and wearing a feather headdress, then danced to the shamanic rhythms of the didgeridoo, percussion and hum drum of the musicians Davide Furlanis and Marvin. Later the dancer became a work of art herself, posing for a dozen artists who drew her from life, recreating a highly suggestive scene. The show was received with great enthusiasm by the public, including the councilor for culture of the Municipality of Trieste Giorgio Rossi.

Si è conclusa con grande affluenza dal pubblico la mostra “Espressioni a Confronto” al magazzino 26 del porto Vecchio di Trieste.
Una mostra che ha visto partecipare 52 artisti triestini con varie tecniche e prodotti pittorici. Per l’occasione del finissage l’artista Isabella Goio ha creato una performance innovativa di bodypainting rituale durante la quale ha dipinto la danzatrice Afra Pieri, dando vita ad uno spettacolo dal vivo di disegno sul corpo. La ballerina, completamente dipinta secondo segni tribali e munita di un copricapo di piume, ha poi danzato sui ritmi sciamanici del didgeridoo, delle percussioni e dell’hum drum dei musicisti Davide Furlanis e Marvin. Successivamente la ballerina è diventata lei stessa opera d’arte, posando per una dozzina di artisti che l’hanno disegnata dal vero, ricreando una scena altamente suggestiva. Lo spettacolo è stato accolto con grande entusiasmo da parte del pubblico, tra cui era presente anche l’assessore alla cultura del Comune di Trieste Giorgio Rossi.
