PARTICIPATION RULES FOR ARTISTS
(Buje-Buie, Croazia 25 June – 24 July 2022)
The City of Buje and the entire Istrian territory is increasingly becoming a place of international artistic and cultural relations.
For this reason the Buje Open Popular University (https://uciliste-buje.eu/), the organizing entity, in partnership with the Municipality of Buje and the Tourist Board of the City of Buje (https://www.coloursofistria.com/en/destinations/buje) proposes this year a contemporary art exhibition Women in Phases in association with Port Art Women of London (https://www.portartwomen.com/).
This exhibition aims to artistically interpret the change in the course of women’s lives and their environment. The transformation of the physical and inner dimension is the central theme that will inspire the artistic contents of the artists who will participate in it.
The exhibition is dedicated exclusively to female artists because there are still many difficulties for women to establish themselves in the art market and to have the right international visibility.
All the different expressions of art are accepted (painting, sculpture, photography, textile art, etc.).
There are two galleries: one online for all the artists and one on land in the Istrian territory where economic realities adhere to the project (wineries, restaurants, etc.).
The online gallery will be published on the Port Art Women website and in the various institutional sites involved, it will be screened on the day of the inauguration with the Authorities at the Buje Open Popular University at the same time in London with a dedicated event should the English artists that participate be enough.
During the month, other public screenings are also planned in the Istrian area.
Those who wish can also send their artistic work to the Open University of Buje (Piazza JBTito 6, 52460 Buje, Croatia) at their own cost of delivery and collection, which will be exhibited in the places of important economic and productive realities of the area to promote a virtuous circle between tourism and artists and places of local economic development. The works can be sold because each work exhibited will have the author’s email contacts and can be contacted personally by the buyer.
The artists who will also participate in the exhibition on land will have to sign a participation document that will exclude the organizers-partners and associates from any liability in the event of loss, theft or damage to the work. At the end of the exhibition (24 July) they will be able to personally collect the work that will be kept at the Open University of Buje (until the end of September) or request it to be sent to the desired address at their own expense.
The works will be submitted to a qualified jury composed of an English, a Slovenian and a Croatian member. The three selected works will be advertised by the City of Buje and by the Tourist Board of the City of Buje quoting the names of the authors and the name of the event and for one year they will be exhibited at the Buje Open Popular University with the consent of the authors.
If you like to participate in this event, buy a ticket, there are two different tickets available, one for digital participation only (£15), another for digital and physical participation (£30)(shipping charges of the physical artwork are at your own expense).
Then send an email to portartwomen@gmail.com containing:
- A high resolution picture of the work (300 dpi resolution, 2000X pixels)
- The title of the work
- the technique used
- Your name and surname
- A brief bio of the artist
- The artist’s contacts to be disseminated publicly (website, FB page, Instagram, email, etc …)
- If you want to participate in the exhibition also by sending your work (shipping charges of the physical artwork are at your own expense), sign the acceptance form at the link. And send your work at Università di Buje – Piazza JBTito 6, 52460 Buje, Croatia
- The signed discalimer (we will not be able to make you take part of the event without this document).
The exhibition locations will be carefully chosen for the safety of the works of art and the artists will be put in contact with the owners of the premises but should you decide to participate with the physical artwork, please be aware that you need to fill in the participation module and should you desire insurance for your art piece, you shall have to obtain it for yourself privately, we exonerate ourselves from all responsability regarding the physical artwork as by the document.

REGOLAMENTO EVENTO PER ARTISTI

La Città di Buie e tutto il territorio istriano sta diventando sempre più un luogo di relazioni artistiche e culturali internazionali.
Per questo l’Università Popolare Aperta di Buie, (https://uciliste-buje.eu/ ) ente organizzatore, in partenariato con Il Comune di Buie e l’Ente per il turismo della Città di Buie (https://www.coloursofistria.com/en/destinations/buje) propone quest’anno una esposizione d’arte contemporanea Women in Phases in associazione con Port Art Women di Londra (https://www.portartwomen.com/).
Questa esposizione vuole interpretare artisticamente il mutamento nel corso della vita delle donne e del loro ambiente. La trasformazione della dimensione fisica e interiore è il tema centrale che ispirerà i contenuti artistici delle artiste che vi parteciperanno.
L’esposizione è dedicata alle artiste perché ci sono ancora molte difficoltà per le donne ad affermarsi nel mercato dell’arte e nell’avere la giusta visibilità internazionale.
Sono accettate tutte le diverse espressioni d’arte (pittura, scultura, fotografia, arte tessile, ecc.).
Sono previste due gallerie: una on line per tutte le artiste e una su terra presso le realtà economiche istriane che aderiscono al progetto (cantine vinicole, ristoranti, ecc.).
La galleria on line sarà pubblicata sul sito di Port Art Women e nei diversi siti istituzionali coinvolti, verrà proiettata il giorno dell’inaugurazione con le Autorità presso l’Università Popolare Aperta di Buie in contemporanea a Londra con un evento dedicato con le artiste inglesi che parteciperanno.
Nel corso del mese sono previste inoltre altre proiezioni pubbliche nell’area istriana.
Chi vorrà potrà anche inviare all’Università Aperta di Buje (Piazza J.B.Tito 6, 52460 Buje, Croazia) a proprie spese di consegna e di ritiro il proprio lavoro artistico che sarà esposto nei luoghi di importanti realtà economiche e produttive del territorio per favorire un circolo virtuoso fra il turismo e le artiste e i luoghi dello sviluppo economico locale. Le opere potranno essere vendute poiché ogni opera esposta avrà i contatti mail dell’autrice e potrà essere contattata personalmente dall’acquirente.
Le artiste che parteciperanno anche nella mostra su terra dovranno firmare un documento di partecipazione che escluderà gli organizzatori-partner e associati da ogni responsabilità in caso di perdita, furto o danneggiamento dell’opera. Alla fine della mostra (24 luglio) potranno ritirare personalmente l’opera che sarà custodita presso l’Università Aperta di Buie (fino alla fine settembre) o richiedere a proprie spese l’invio al domicilio desiderato.
Le opere saranno sottoposte a una Giuria qualificata composta da un membro inglese, uno sloveno e uno croato. Le tre opere selezionate saranno pubblicizzate dal Città di Buie e dall’Ente per il turismo della Città di Buie citando i nomi delle autrici e il nome dell’evento e per un anno saranno esposte presso l’Università Popolare Aperta di Buje con il consenso delle autrici.

- Firma e spedisci scansione del documento di sottoiscrizione al regolamento sempre alla e-mail portartwomen@gmail.com
I luoghi di esposizione saranno scelti con cura per la sicurezza delle opere d’arte e le artiste saranno messe in contatto con i proprietari dei locali ma se decidete di partecipare inviando un’opera fisica, l’Ente organizzatore non si assume nessuna responsabilità su eventuali danni, furti o smarrimenti. Si consiglia di procurarsi una assicurazione personale privata per l’opera esposta.
